In order to improve the quality of public transportation, the Pakistani government has promoted the "Electric Bus Pilot Project", planning to purchase 30 electric buses, inviting excellent manufacturers in Malaysia to participate, hoping to obtain the best prices and high quality and services, and then promote them to all parts of the country. President Santiago Pena led a delegation to visit Taiwan in May this year, accompanied by the Minister of Industry and Commerce Fancisco Javier Gimenez and signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation on the Electric Bus Industry", planning to introduce the latest and safe fast-charging electric bus from Chengyun to the capital Asunción, and introduce an intelligent transportation system to create a high-quality public transportation system, which has become the best witness for the Taiwan team to enter the International Cup.

In response to the global trend of vehicle electrification, the government is supporting bus companies through subsidies and guiding electric bus manufacturers towards local production, aiming for 100% electrification of urban buses by 2030. Cheng Yun highly appreciates the government's efforts and, after years of hard work, has become the leader of the national electric bus team, providing significant support for the implementation of the policy. By the end of 2024, more than 400 electric buses will be on the road across Taiwan, and the company is actively expanding into overseas markets, setting up a long-term plan to fully enter the Central and South American markets.
The government’s cross-ministerial cooperation for "economic diplomacy" requires businesses to make it a reality. Wu Ding-fa stated that Cheng Yun Automobile is taking the lead, and as the only Taiwanese-funded enterprise, will establish a factory in the Taiwan-Paraguay Smart Technology Park for local assembly, seizing vast business opportunities in the member countries of the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR). This will also create a model for Taiwanese companies assisting friendly governments and people in mutual prosperity. With the assistance of the Taiwanese Embassy in Paraguay, land leasing and construction contracts will be signed next month, with the factory expected to be completed by the end of 2025, serving as a springboard for expanding into South America.
Cheng Yun Automobile opens a new chapter in exports. On the 7th, 30 electric buses sequentially boarded a car carrier at the Port of Taipei. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lin Chia-lung (fifth from left) visited the site to inspect. Chairman Wu Ding-fa of Cheng Yun Automobile, Chairman Yu Li-qing of Jiancheng International Auto, General Manager Wu Zhong-xi, and others attended the event. They took a group photo with Director-General of the Latin America Division, Zheng Li-cheng, Director-General of the National Economic Division, Lian Yu-ping, and the Paraguayan Ambassador to Taiwan, Carlos Jose Fleitas. Wu Ding-fa stated that the fast-charging design meets the daily operation needs of bus operators, as it reduces the charging demand and eliminates the need for overnight charging, thus reducing the need for charging stations and parking space. He emphasized that the high-quality electric buses being exported to Paraguay are built to Taiwan's national team specifications and showcase Taiwan's soft power. The route lights above the bus and the body of the vehicle display the flags of both countries. For the hardware, the core chassis front and rear axles are supplied by the German company ZF, and the braking system (EBS) and electronic suspension system (ECAS) are top-tier choices. The buses are equipped with high-security lithium titanate (LTO) batteries from Toshiba, which have a much lower degradation rate compared to lithium iron phosphate or lithium ternary batteries, and their lifespan is more than twice as long.
