On March 21, Master Bus announced that 20 electric buses it manufactured had arrived at the Port of Asunción in Paraguay on March 16 (Taiwan time). The buses were successfully offloaded with assistance from the local team. The event was personally witnessed by Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios, Minister of Public Works Claudia Centurión, Ambassador to Paraguay Han Chih-Cheng, and the project team—symbolizing a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation.
The electric buses were shipped from Taipei Port at the end of 2024, marking the first overseas export under the “Smart Electric Bus DMIT Project.” After a voyage of over three months, they reached Paraguay. Due to the dry season of the Paraguay River, the riverbed water levels were too low for the vessel to dock parallel to land. The engineering team opted to use cranes to offload the buses.
According to the local engineering team, the crane unloading method is commonly used in such circumstances, and both the disembarkation and offloading operations proceeded smoothly.
Paraguay's Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will carry out demonstration route projects and initiate training programs for drivers and technical staff.
Minister Claudia Centurión shared a video of the bus offloading on social media, stating, “This is a significant advancement for our country!”
Master Bus expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy in Paraguay, the Paraguayan government, and all teams involved. The crane-based offloading process went smoothly. The company pledged to continue fully supporting the Paraguayan teams to ensure that engineering projects proceed on schedule and with quality, jointly working toward the global goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.
