20 electric buses from Master Bus arrived in Paraguay, marking the first export of DMIT electric buses.
The electric buses manufactured by Master Bus arrived at the Port of Asunción, Paraguay, on March 16 (Taiwan time). A total of 20 buses were successfully offloaded, marking the first overseas export of DMIT electric buses.
According to Master Bus, the shipment took more than three months to reach Paraguay. Due to the dry season of the Paraguay River, low water levels prevented the vessel from docking parallel to the shore. As a result, cranes were used for offloading. Local engineering teams noted that crane unloading is a common method, ensuring smooth disembarkation and transfer to land.
Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will begin demonstration route projects and training for drivers and technical staff. Master Bus emphasized that the crane-based unloading process went smoothly and pledged to continue supporting Paraguay’s teams to ensure projects are carried out on time and to quality standards, working together toward the global 2050 net-zero emissions goal.
Paraguayan President Santiago Peña Palacios, Minister of Public Works Claudia Centurión, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Paraguay Han Chih-Cheng, and project team members personally attended the event, symbolizing an important milestone in bilateral cooperation.
