In response to the government’s policy of achieving full electrification of urban buses by 2030, Taipei Bus Company’s New Taipei City Route 932 “Sanxia–Banqiao” rapid bus line will gradually transit to brand-new electric buses starting from October 8, 2025.
As the population of Sanxia NTPU Community continues to grow each year, the company established Route 932 in 2012 using diesel buses to meet residents’ commuting needs. This route departs from Sanxia NTPU Community, travels via National Freeway No. 3 and Expressway No. 65 to Banqiao, and stops at MRT Fuzhong Station, Banqiao Bus Station, and New Taipei City Hall. Since its launch 13 years ago, Route 932 has transported over 3.2 million passengers annually. Thanks to its frequent service, direct route, large capacity, and affordable fares, it has become a favorite among commuters.

At the “Taipei Bus Route 932 Rapid Electric Bus Launch Ceremony” held in the morning, the chief secretary of New Taipei City Department of Transportation, Zhu Jianquan, stated that the city is supporting the Executive Yuan’s 2030 full urban bus electrification policy. Through the “New Taipei City Government Guidelines for Promoting Green, Eco-Friendly, and People-Oriented Public Transport Bus Purchase Subsidies,” relevant subsidies have been allocated to encourage operators to replace vehicles and promote energy-saving buses. As of now, New Taipei City has a total of 310 electric buses in service. He also announced that future intercity buses will gradually transit to electric vehicles as well, continuing toward the goal of full urban bus electrification by 2030.

Taipei Bus Chairman Li Bowen expressed his gratitude to Sanxia residents for their support. In addition to the 20 new rapid electric buses being introduced for Route 932, three other New Taipei rapid routes—916, 937, and 966—will also receive 17 new rapid electric buses (5 for Route 916, 5 for Route 937, and 7 for Route 966). This will further enhance service quality and allow citizens to enjoy comfortable and convenient public transportation.

To provide passengers with a safer, quieter, and more comfortable ride and a high-quality, low-pollution public transport experience, all 20 buses on Route 932 will be gradually replaced with electric coaches. These new vehicles feature three key highlights:
Increased Seating Capacity
As electric buses operating on freeways or expressways are not permitted to have standing passengers, each bus is equipped with 42 passenger seats. Compared to standard electric buses, which typically have 21 to 26 seats, this represents an increase of approximately 16 to 21 seats.
AEBS Advanced Emergency Braking System
In addition to being equipped with the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), these electric buses also feature an AEBS (Advanced Emergency Braking System). The system uses cameras and sensors to detect vehicles and pedestrians ahead and automatically applies the brakes when a collision risk is detected, thereby mitigating or preventing accidents and greatly enhancing driving safety.
Full-Pass-Through Large Luggage Compartment
To make it easier for passengers to carry large luggage without affecting seating space, these buses are equipped with a full-pass-through large luggage compartment.
