Master Bus and ARTC Vehicle Center have successfully developed the world's first Level 3 smart electric bus. Developed in collaboration with ARTC, this Level 3 smart electric bus will feature five ADAS Level 2 to 3 functions. In addition to the four functions of UN R79(EU), including corrective vehicle steering, automatic steering control, emergency steering, and lane change assist, it also features UN R157(EU) automatic lane keeping.
The advanced driving assistance system will significantly reduce the accident rate of manual driving. For example, accidents such as vehicle deviation and rear-end collisions caused by distracted driving or physical discomfort on highways, as well as pedestrian collisions at crosswalks, can be reduced with the help of intelligent driving functions, making electric buses not only sustainable but also a safer and more user-friendly public transportation.
