Master Bus, equipped with high-specification motors, is creating a new long-distance transportation vehicle in Taiwan! On the 18th, Master Bus showcased Taiwan's first independently developed, designed, and manufactured electric intercity bus at the 2025 Smart City and Net Zero City Expo on the 4th floor. Master Bus also collaborated with Delta Electronics on a virtual power plant demonstration on the 1st floor. At the same time, Master Bus announced that the electric intercity bus will enter operation in the second quarter of this year, setting a new benchmark for long-distance transportation in Taiwan.
The Smart City Expo and Net Zero City Expo will be held at Hall 2 of the Nangang Exhibition Center from March 18th to 21st. Master Bus will share its highest specification 450kW direct drive motor at the exhibition.
In response to the international trend toward net-zero emissions, Master Bus has been committed to the independent research, development and manufacturing of electric buses since 2015. The electric intercity bus, which was built in the second quarter of this year, will soon be officially put on the road. This bus will become an important choice for intercity transportation in Taiwan with its high efficiency, long endurance, and comfort.
Master's electric intercity buses not only help achieve net-zero carbon emissions but also improve the transportation between cities. From urban buses to long-distance intercity coach, expanding from "points" to "lines," Master Bus's continued development of electric 7-meter minibuses is expected to fulfill the need of public transportation ‘from points, lines to network,’ leading the way in electric buses, completing the last mile and achieving a significant public transportation milestone.
The highlight of Master Bus's exhibition this year was its independently developed 450kW direct-drive motor. This top-of-the-line motor is designed specifically for intercity electric coaches operating on long, hilly routes. It provides strong power and highly efficient energy conversion, ensuring smooth operation even on the most challenging routes.
Master Bus combines green energy and public transportation, and is committed to the independent research, development and manufacturing of electric buses. After undergoing multiple professional certifications and functional verifications, it became the first electric bus manufacturer in Taiwan to obtain demonstration qualifications in 2021.
Master Bus’s statistics show that by the end of last year, the company had 398 electric buses running across Taiwan. This year, Master Bus will continue to produce electric low-floor and intercity buses, which will be delivered to Capital Bus Group, Shin Shin Bus, and Taoyuan Bus. By then, they will be spread across eight counties and cities in Taiwan, becoming one of the important driving forces behind the government's promotion of the full electrification of urban buses by 2030.
As the government promotes renewable energy policies and encourages the liberalization of the electricity industry, Master Bus has partnered with Delta Electronics, hoping to leverage the advantages of electric buses and draw on Delta's strengths in energy management to propose a complete smart energy solution covering the DeltaGrid® energy management system and electric vehicle charging equipment. The combination of electric buses and virtual power plants demonstrates the importance of grid resilience.
This time, a conceptual demonstration of "electric bus x virtual power plant" was specially carried out at the Smart City Expo, hoping to achieve both net zero emissions and stable power supply to create a steady electricity market in the future.
Smart cities and net-zero emissions are already a global trend. As a member of the national electric bus team, Master Bus shares important breakthroughs in the electric bus field, introduces the latest technologies and future plans, and upholds the spirit of independent research, development and innovative technology to continuously break through technological boundaries. We hope to contribute more to the electric bus field in Taiwan and even the world, and move towards the goal of green public transportation and net-zero carbon reduction.
